The role of communication in hiring a nanny
So, you've been chilling in our awesome nanny community! Guess what, we just found out that one of the parents posted about a nanny that is like your fairy godmother- or father! Woohoo! Time to get excited! But wait! Before you jump right into the interview process, let me share a little secret with you. Many parents in our community are always questioning about salaries, time-off, and other important stuff. Nothing wrong with that, but these are not always the most important things to consider when looking for the right nanny. Sometimes, it's the little things that can make all the difference. So, I put together a list of super important questions to ask the parent posting about the nanny before you decide to interview. And don't forget to have a quick chat over the phone or video! These parents are in our community to help their nanny find a new family, so they are the people you want to hire! Get ready to find your new favorite nanny!
1. How long have you known the nanny, and how would you describe their personality and work ethic?
2. Can you provide some specific examples of how the nanny has demonstrated their ability to care for children?
3. How does the nanny handle challenging situations or behaviors from children?
4. Has the nanny ever had any incidents of neglect or misconduct while caring for children?
5. How does the nanny handle emergencies or medical situations
6. How does the nanny communicate with parents, and is she reliable and punctual?
7. Does the nanny have any certifications or training in childcare?
8. How does the nanny plan and engage children in age-appropriate educational and play activities?
